Meet the Team Behind Infinite Fleet

The Infinite Fleet community has welcomed many new commanders to its ranks in the last few months. If you found out about us recently, thank you for becoming a part of our family! Infinite Fleet has come a long way and grown a lot. We’re excited to watch you enjoy our Alpha as we work towards the first release of our Beta.

All the game development updates, artwork, ships, and exciting news you see are the result of the work of a team of AAA games industry veterans. Today we want to take the opportunity to shine a light on the leadership team that is making the vision behind Infinite Fleet a reality.

Samson Mow - Founder + CEO

The man, the myth, the legend — our CEO Samson. You may know him as one of the thought leaders in the Bitcoin space; Samson played a crucial role in the Block Size War and the UASF movement. But outside of his stellar career in the Bitcoin space, Samson has an impressive gaming career to show for. As a director of production and executive producer at massive gaming studio Ubisoft, he spearheaded the company’s expansion into Asia for web, social, and mobile games; he also worked on the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War franchises at Relic Entertainment.

In 2011, his entrepreneurial spirit led Samson to launch his own startup: Pixelmatic. Initially, Pixelmatic developed and published mobile games, before taking on technical operations for Super Evil MegaCorp's Vainglory in Asia, and then pivoting to develop Infinite Fleet.

With Infinite Fleet, Samson combines his passion for gaming and Bitcoin. Pixelmatic leverages technology developed by Blockstream, the Bitcoin infrastructure firm of which Samson is the Chief Strategy Officer, to build an open in-game economy for Infinite Fleet, the first of its kind in MMO gaming.

Sonny Alves Dias - CTO

One of Pixelmatic’s OG team members, Sonny oversees the complex technical side of Infinite Fleet’s development. He holds a Master’s degree in computer science and has been working on video games and blockchain projects for over nine years. Since 2014, Sonny has been with Pixelmatic, handling the technical infrastructure of gaming projects such as Vainglory in Asia. And as if gaming and blockchain tech weren’t enough, Sonny is also interested in artificial intelligence: his Master’s thesis explored the concept of mixing games and AI to apply evolutionary computation to the classic text game Super Star Trek.

Chris Wood - COO

Chris is a passionate gamer, storyteller, and energetic operations professional with a decade of leadership and management experience in the video game and education industries. Starting out as a project manager, he has since taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer and now leads the production of Infinite Fleet, using his abundant experience in the fields of sales, marketing, business administration, and project management (among other skills that would take too long to list) to coordinate the development of the game. In his life pre-Infinite Fleet, Chris led the production of an online training platform and published educational textbooks.

Jason Lee - Chief Creative Officer

An acclaimed game systems designer with over 13 years of experience working on multiple AAA titles, Jason has been with Pixelmatic for over two years. Previously, Jason worked at Relic Entertainment, where had most recently led the game design of the highly anticipated Age of Empires IV. In addition, he was part of the team behind Company of Heroes. As Chief Creative Officer at Pixelmatic, Jason works on key features of Infinite Fleet’s gameplay mechanics and their symbiosis with its epic lore.

Wayne Wong-Chong - Director of Art

A veteran of the gaming industry, chances are pretty high that Wayne has worked on a game you’ve played before. FIFA, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War, anyone? With more than 20 years of experience under his belt, Wayne has made a name for himself as one of the top guys when it comes to technical art. In fact, before joining Pixelmatic, he was working on Age of Empires IV with Jason. As Director of Art, he oversees all aspects of Infinite Fleet’s gorgeous artwork. Thank you, Wayne, for those beautiful spaceships in our hangers!

Nicolas Bernard - Technical Director

With Nicolas, a living legend has joined Pixelmatic. Before he became a part of our team, he was the Technical Director on the famous “Syberia” series, which pushed the limitations of the Unity engine. He has ample experience handling the technical division of several AA titles with budgets ranging between $5 million and $10 million, alongside veteran game editor Microids. And not only that: Nicolas has also successfully launched multiple solo indie games.

Jordan Guinaud - VP of Engineering

What do Coca-Cola, Philips, Johnson & Johnson, Le Monde, and TomTom have in common? They all had Jordan on their team — but not anymore, because now he’s with us. Jordan is a technical leader with over 12 years of experience producing high-quality software and successful products across various industries. Besides working with some of the world’s biggest brands, he has also helped startups grow and organize their software department during their seed funding phase. This colorful experience comes in handy for Jordan as he is now Pixelmatic’s VP of Engineering.
